Tax Back Ltd. is Alberta's premiere Fuel Tax accounting firm specializing in the identification and refund of overpaid or paid in error fuel taxes for oilfield companies, construction companies, agricultural companies, and any other company that has an off road fuel use component.
Tax Back Ltd. was started in May of 1991 in response to an industry need for a standardized professional technical approach to fuel tax accounting.
The two founding partners of Tax Back Ltd. are Mr. Les J. Willms (Certified General Accountant) and myself, Michael R. (Rick) Soyka.
My Bachelor of Engineering degree lends itself well to Fuel Tax accounting in that our calculations take into account all of the necessary technical parameters used in the determination of fuel consumption for various applications.
Our survey methods have now been adopted industry wide. These include the measurement of on road travel time, off road travel time, off road working time and idle time, in order to properly calculate an off road fuel use percentage.
